90 DAYS. 10 MEN. LIVE ONLINE.

YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG.

The arguments. The silence. The separate bedrooms. The lack of affection. The feeling that you're living with someone who used to be your best friend, but now feels like a stranger.

Maybe she doesn't look at you the same way anymore. Maybe the smallest things turn into an argument. Maybe you've stopped talking about anything meaningful because it's easier to say nothing than risk another fight. Maybe she's told you she doesn't love you anymore!

You remember when she couldn't wait to see you. When you laughed together. When you wanted each other. When you were a team.

Now you're wondering where that went.

Perhaps she's told you she's unhappy. That she's exhausted. That she can't keep doing this.

Or perhaps she's stopped telling you anything at all.

And that's what worries you most.

Because when the arguments stop, it doesn't always mean things are getting better. Sometimes it means someone has stopped trying.

You still love her. You don't want your marriage to end. You don't want to lose the life you've built together or be every second weekend dad.

But you don't know how to get back to where you were.

And the longer you leave it, the further apart you seem to become.

She's still your wife. But you know that doesn't mean she'll always stay.

THE SMOKE COMES BEFORE THE FIRE.

Most marriages don't reach breaking point overnight.

It's the unresolved arguments. The resentment that builds. The things said in anger. The apologies followed by the same behaviour. The emotional distance. The intimacy that gradually disappears.

It's the conversations you keep avoiding because you don't know how to have them without everything blowing up.

And sometimes it's the insecurity, jealousy, defensiveness, withdrawal or need to be right that you don't even recognise in yourself.

You tell yourself you'll work on it when things settle down.

When work isn't so stressful. When the kids are older. When there's more money. When you're both less tired.

But what if things don't settle down?

What if the next serious conversation isn't about fixing your marriage?

What if it's about divorce papers?

You can't control how your partner feels or what she ultimately decides.

But you can stop standing still while your marriage continues to deteriorate.

SIX WEEKS TO START DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

THE SMOKE BEFORE THE FIRE is a six-week live online group program for married men and men in long-term relationships who know their relationship is in serious trouble.

It's for men who want to understand how things reached this point, recognise the behaviours and patterns contributing to the breakdown, and learn how to approach their relationship differently.

Not by becoming someone they're not.

Not by agreeing with everything their partner says.

And certainly not by taking responsibility for everything that's gone wrong.

But by being willing to look at themselves, have uncomfortable conversations, understand their partner's experience and take responsibility for the things they can change.

Because telling someone you love them and knowing how to make them feel loved aren't always the same thing.

  • WEEK 1 — HOW DID WE GET HERETHE SIX WEEKS?

Understanding where the relationship began to change.

When did things start feeling different? What keeps causing the same arguments? What has been left unresolved?

We'll explore the patterns that have developed between you and your partner, the resentment that may have built over time and the warning signs you might have missed or dismissed.

The work: Begin understanding the relationship you're actually in today, rather than the one you remember.

  • WEEK 2 — THE MAN SHE LIVES WITH

Understanding your behaviour and its impact.

It's easy to recognise what your partner does that frustrates or hurts you. It's often much harder to recognise what she experiences from you.

We'll explore defensiveness, emotional withdrawal, anger, insecurity, jealousy, criticism, avoidance and the ways we respond when we feel rejected or misunderstood.

This isn't about blame. It's about awareness.

The work: Recognise your reactions, take responsibility for your behaviour and identify what needs to change.

  • WEEK 3 — WHY CAN'T WE JUST TALK?

Breaking the cycle of arguments, silence and misunderstanding.

You try to explain yourself. She hears something different. She responds. You become defensive. Before long, you're arguing about how you're arguing.

Or perhaps you don't argue anymore. You just don't talk.

We'll work on communication, listening, expressing difficult feelings, managing conflict and having conversations without immediately slipping into the same old patterns.

The work: Learn how to communicate without every difficult conversation becoming another battle. How to create a safe environment for health communication.

  • WEEK 4 — THE DAMAGE WE KEEP REPEATING

Recognising what is slowly destroying trust and connection.

Sometimes the damage isn't one enormous betrayal. It's the accumulation of broken promises, dismissive comments, emotional absence, jealousy, resentment or the same hurtful behaviour repeated over years.

We'll examine self-sabotage, accountability, trust, boundaries and what meaningful change looks like beyond saying sorry.

The work: Identify the patterns you need to stop repeating and begin replacing promises with consistent action.

  • WEEK 5 — WHERE DID THE CONNECTION GO?

Understanding emotional distance, affection and intimacy.

When did you stop touching each other just because you wanted to? When did conversations become practical rather than personal? When did you stop feeling like partners and start feeling like housemates?

We'll explore emotional connection, affection, intimacy, sexual disconnection, appreciation and the ways couples can become distant without intending to.

We'll also look at how to approach reconnection without pressure, entitlement or expecting your partner to respond on your timetable.

The work: Understand what connection means in your relationship and how to create opportunities for it to grow again.

  • WEEK 6 — WHAT HAPPENS FROM HERE?

Turning six weeks of understanding into lasting change.

You can spend six weeks learning about relationships and still go home and do exactly what you've always done.

That's not what we're here for.

In our final week, we'll bring together what you've recognised, what you've practised and what you need to continue working on.

You'll develop a personal relationship action plan with realistic commitments, healthier communication strategies and a clearer understanding of how you want to show up moving forward.

The work: Leave with more than good intentions. Leave knowing what you're going to do differently.

THIS IS NOT ANOTHER ONLINE COURSE YOU BUY AND NEVER FINISH.

THIS IS LIVE. YOU SHOW UP. WE DO THE WORK TOGETHER.

For six weeks, you'll join me and nine other men in a private, facilitated online group.

Real men dealing with real relationship problems.

Men who are frightened of losing their marriages. Men who are struggling to communicate. Men who are tired of repeating the same arguments. Men who want to make changes but don't know where to begin.

You'll be able to participate, ask questions, reflect on what's happening in your relationship and learn from conversations that often reveal you're not the only man experiencing these things.

There will be practical work between sessions because what happens in your relationship outside our meetings matters just as much as what we discuss during them.

No pre-recorded lectures. No self-paced modules. No sitting behind a screen watching videos whenever you get around to it.

Six weeks of live, interactive sessions with me.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF...

You still love your wife or long-term partner, but you know your relationship is in serious trouble.

You've been having the same arguments for years, or you've reached the point where you barely speak.

Your partner has told you she's unhappy, or you're frightened she's already emotionally checking out.

You miss the affection, friendship, intimacy and connection you once shared.

You've promised to change before, but you keep falling back into familiar patterns.

You know there are things you need to work on, even if you're not entirely sure what they are yet.

And most importantly, you're prepared to stop waiting for things to magically improve and start doing something about your part in the relationship.

A WORD FROM MISS M

I've spent years listening to men talk about their relationships.

I've heard the frustration, the confusion, the anger and the heartbreak.

I've listened to men who genuinely love their wives but feel completely lost when it comes to understanding what has happened between them.

Men who thought providing for their families was enough. Men who never learnt how to express what they were feeling. Men who withdrew because they didn't know what else to do.

And men who only realised how serious things had become when their partner told them she wanted to leave.

What I've learnt is that loving someone doesn't automatically give us the skills to navigate everything a long-term relationship brings.

We bring our upbringing, our experiences, our fears, our expectations and our ways of coping into our relationships.

Sometimes those things help us.

Sometimes they slowly damage the very relationship we're trying to hold on to.

I created THE SMOKE BEFORE THE FIRE because I want men to have somewhere to begin understanding those things before their marriage reaches the point of no return.

I can't promise you'll save your marriage.

But I can give you six weeks to start understanding yourself, your relationship and what you can do differently.

And I would much rather have that conversation with you now than hear you say, months down the track, that you wish you'd done something sooner.

— Miss M

SIX WEEKS. TEN MEN. ONE DECISION.

You can keep hoping things will get better.

You can keep avoiding the conversations, making the same promises and waiting for the right time to do something.

Or you can recognise the warning signs and start taking action.

SHE HASN'T HANDED YOU DIVORCE PAPERS. YET.

Don't wait until that's the conversation you're having.
